I really wanted to breakdown after all the drama that is surrounding the Born This Way Ball. I don’t see anything wrong about the tour, about her art, and about her. They always use the song “Judas” to attack her but they did not even tried to get what the song really means to her personal life. Most people don’t realize what she really do. She actually helped me accept who I really am as a person and as a human being and to fight for my right even though I’m gay. I saddens me because of the ignorance of others that actually tearing this country apart.
For the record, I believe in God, but it doesn’t mean that I disregard my Christian beliefs. just because of I’m a Gaga fan. It really saddens me, just because she’s not that “normal” for everybody, it doesn’t mean that it is Satanic. Artists are entitled to express their opinions to different issues in a way that the public would understand in a way they can relate to it.
I would like to conclude this by saying that it is unfair to treat Lady Gaga and us Little Monsters this way. We did not even do any acts that will destroy the country nor the entire humanity. With all this shit happening today, I can say that God chooses Gaga to help others to be more empowered with themselves to live a better life. So I hope whoever reads this, I think that you should know never judge a person by its appearance, you have to know the person before you gave your judgement. Even our Lord taught us to love one another that Gaga also practice at heart. That’s all.
BEN’S MANIFESTO No.1
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, HONEY!
March 24, 2012, the day that our Communication Arts class went to last night’s live episode of TV5’s “WILL TIME BIG TIME”. At first, I was hesitant to watch because I don’t watch much television lately. Also, I find the show to be too mass oriented for its treatment and vibe that makes some people and students, like me, to feel… well , like: “Masyado siyang pang-masa … Hindi ko sya feel … Mas feel ko pa manood ng Monster Ball Tour (Lady Gaga’s Highly acclaimed concert) kesa dyan …” but I also thought na maybe I’ll some things about this and to know how mass media “controls” the people’s minds by delving into the psychological thinking of the masses through this show.
At first, I was puzzled on how the masses (the audience) have this certain “admiration” on the controversial host Willie Revillame. I found out that his “charismatic personality” really draws mass appeal was surreal like he was the “Savior of the Masses” which the masses learned to “hope” that he will gave them cash prizes that they will do everything for it.
Now for the production, I learned that a thoroughly executed production does the trick. From the lighting, the REALLY LOUD SOUND, the ambiance, the audience queuing, and most especially THE CAMERA MOVEMENTS really does wonders. These production effects really worked on manipulating the studio and television audience psyche and thought.
I also learned that SEX REALLY SELLS! from the dancer’s revealing outfits up to its dance movements really entices the audience to watch the show.
Most of the show’s segments are sponsored driven. For the reality that most people did not understand or know that sponsorship REALLY matter, as what we’ve learned in our Broadcasting Communications class. Sponsors are really important for the show’s longevity that Without them, there won’t be any show to be produced, for the fact that the shows actually brought their audiences to their sponsors to buy their respective products. Hence, commercialism.
As for my personal experience, I actually auditioned for the games, but I did not take it seriously because I know that there were others who really need it so desperately that they do anything to win cash prizes. When its’ about time to enter the studio, as what I’ve mentioned earlier, it is really enticing and the mood was really set from its appearance and setting.
On a segment where Willie asked us some “scholarly” questions, I was shocked when the mic was on me and he asked us about the relationship between Dr. Jose Rizal, Philippine’s National Hero, and the French Fashion house Louis Vuitton. I actually gave a wrong answer which I felt a bit embarrassed, but in the back of my mind, and also to other students who really understood Jose Rizal, I found the question to be irrelevant. The fact that History happens simultaneously is considered, the relation between the two is definitely out of context for there were more important events that really took place in Rizal’s time that really affects his life and ideas are far more important than a mere Louis Bag.
History drama aside, the experience was actually fun. At one point, we forgot all our problems and worries (GRADES!!!!!!!!!!) and we all just let loose and be free.
Thanks to Ma’am Faye and Will Time Big Time, we ended the second semester with a colorful and fun bang :-D
